Description
Really interesting form on this dahlia. It has not been classified by the American Dahlia Society. Appears laciniated at first glance, but on most blooms the stiff, quill-like petals are tubular down the entire length, making it more of a novelty. Despite its delicate appearance, Alauna Millipiques holds up well in the vase and is a must-grow for wedding work. The shorter 3′ plants send up plenty of good cutting stems.
For me the first flush of blooms is more ivory/cream, with the pink blush becoming more pronounced later in the season.
