Description
Introduced by British hybridizer Tom Cleghorn in 1999, this dahlia was named for his daughter, whose initials were “L. A. T.” Tom added the final “E.” because his daughter was always late!
This is a great, productive little cut flower that varies in color quite a bit with the weather. For me the first blooms were a brighter coral, and they softened to peachy apricot as the season progressed. Ironically, L.A.T.E. is one of the earliest varieties to flower in my field. 2.5-3″ blooms on 3.5-4′ plants.
