This little unclassified variety has, in my opinion, the most magical coloring of any dahlia I grow. For this reason I will never not grow Senior’s Hope. (It’s not just me who feels this way about the color — two of my local wedding florists head straight for this variety every week and harvest them all, whether or not it’s part of a customer-requested palette!)
2.5-3″ blooms on petite 2.5-3′ plants with dark stems and foliage. Although the plants are small, the stem length and strength is adequate for cutting. Like Mission Gypsy, Senior’s Hope would be a good candidate for the front of your border or a large patio pot. Also like Mission Gypsy, it sometimes attracts fairies to the garden. 🙂
